gnome-split software package provides GNOME Split - File splitter for GNOME desktop, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gnome-split
gnome-split is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gnome-split package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gnome-split *
You will get with gnome-split package name, version, architecture and description in a table
